Creative Writing Prompt: If my current emotions were the weather, what would the forecast look like? —an IFS take.
The gusts rattle the windows. You hear them before you feel them, but you feel it deep in your body. The thunder beats in your chest-skipping your breath.
I choose to rock in the chair on the porch. I feel the humiidity on my skin. The thunder in my chest. The wind against my body. Somehow, I find myself I the uproar.
I am used to the uproar. I know the panic. I do not lose myself in the fear. Now I am centered, rocking, and breathing. The storm is just a storm and I can see the beauty in it. I am myself. I have myself. I am whole.
