I specialize in Couples Counseling, Parenting Dynamics, and Perinatal Work!

Hey, I’m Sonya.

The study of marriage and family therapy trained me to think systemically, meaning I look at each person I work with as part of a greater system. The various groups we are members of in life, whether it be our family, friend group, career group, etc., all affect our day-to-day moods and functioning. I think it is important to look at everyone’s lives as a whole in order to do the most complete work possible. It is through this work that I see the most success and improvement in therapy.

I strive to provide a comfortable, laid back space for you open up about what is most important to you.

When I’m not in the therapy room, I’m usually chasing after my two kids or trying to relax with my husband, which often includes planning our next big travel adventure.

I am licensed in:

  • "I have known Sonya for many years, both personally and professionally, and I have the honor to say she is a compassionate, thoughtful, and dedicated therapist and person. Because of the trust I have in her character and clinical skills, I don't hesitate to refer adult clients needing support as a couple or individually to her when appropriate. Sonya has a natural warmth that helps others feel comfortable, seen, and understood as she listens without judgment in a down-to-earth manner that makes her easy to connect with. Sonya empathically holds people accountable and gently invites them to confront their therapeutic tasks and and transform their life. I wholeheartedly recommend Sonya to anyone looking for a therapist who is not only highly skilled, but also genuinely kind, trustworthy, and invested in the well-being of others."

  • "Sonya is more than a talent, she is a gift. As my colleague, Sonya brought deep insight into the human condition. Her non-judgmental, engaged approach to supporting others while working toward solutions, remains unmatched since she left our practice. Sonya taught so much. She taught me the importance of patience in my advocacy for others ~ helping me to understand that respecting the pace of others was fundamental to building trusting relationships. Sonya’s belief in the importance of humor reminds others to laugh when they most need it. Sonya’s light shines brightest on those who need a trusting, honest guide to navigate life’s challenges."
